Joint Transmit/receive Frequency-domain Equalization for Broadband Mobile Radio

چکیده

Frequency-domain equalization (FDE) based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion can exploit the channel frequency-selectivity to obtain the frequency diversity gain and therefore, improve the bit error rate (BER) performance of broadband single-carrier (SC) signal transmissions in a severe frequency-selective fading channel. However, the performance improvement is limited by the residual intersymbol interference (ISI) which is present after MMSE-FDE. In this paper, to reduce the residual ISI, we propose a joint transmit/receive MMSE-FDE (double MMSE-FDE) for broadband SC block signal transmissions. BER performance improvement is confirmed by computer simulation.
